Brief

Townley Drop Forge has almost 100 years of forging experience and is proudly 100% Australian owned and operated, specialising in tensioning, staying, lifting and rigging components. Townley manufactures to Australian Standards and services a wide range of markets including Mining, Automotive, Construction, Marine and Defence.

Townley also offers a custom forging service incorporating CAD/CAM design facilities, in house tooling manufacture, drop forge fabrication and CNC machining capability.

Townley engaged Alaress to produce a new website that reflected the superior nature of the company and captured the unique nature of the “forge” through the interface and imagery.

Website, product and member management was required and the website needed to support customers browsing their extensive product range, providing a user friendly experience backed with practical functionally.

Solution

Our team kicked off with requirements analysis and a scoping phase that isolated some potential features that could improve existing business process. New interfaces were designed based on detailed information architecture and wire-frames to ensure that content and functionality was tailored to all target users groups.

An enterprise content management system (CMS) was developed from the ground up to ensure Townley administrators could update the website in-house which also included a custom built product management system, search and member management system.

The members only area enabled secured access to AutoCAD and other important digital assets that helped streamline existing business processes.

Distributor locator and an email marketing system help back the soloution up and Alaress co-ordinated some amazing photography to back the company's appearance with high quality product and environment photos.

Results

With a range of new features and a new corporate website that offers both new and existing clients access to information previously inaccessible, the new Townley website has been a huge success. Traffic from search engines has nearly doubled in the few months since launching the website driving new business growth.
