James is considered as one of the leading edge developers of educational software in Australia. With wide exposure in fields including; security, communications and open source technologies, he designs and implements cutting edge solutions to a range of Information, Communication Technology (ICT) related issues. He has a solid background in ICT having worked on a range of projects including web based application development and enterprise network deployment and administration.

James brings to the Alaress team a focus on security and large scale application design and implementation experience. He leverages open source technology to provide a secure cost effective solutions and has worked on a number of unique projects including the development of EdWeb under contract for CSM Technology for South Australian Government as part of their education framework. Students can create and manage online portfolio websites and upload images, documents and multimedia for inclusion in their site. The websites are dynamically created from a range of templates and themes. Navigation and menus are automatically created and managed by the system.

James also developed the PHP based Schoolbox eLearning portal. Originally designed for use by Melbourne Grammar School, Schoolbox is a content management system for educational environments based on open source technologies; PHP, MySQL, Apache, FreeBSD. Schoolbox integrated seamlessly with existing infrastructure including Microsoft SQL server to provide timetable services. The software is also incorporated the schools mail server to provide webmail.
